What We Do
Title 24 Residential Alterations
Duct Testing
Mission: Energy + Air Flow + Comfort
Duct Testing is done by pressurizing the ducts as a whole. When this is done we get a total leakage in CFM's (Cubic Feet Per Minute). With this information we can determine if the duct work is in compliance with California Title 24 energy codes, for new duct systems the allowable leakage is 6% if the ducts are not replaced, only the condenser or furnace the allowable leakage is 15%. There are some other variables that come in to play to determine what your target will be.
Refrigerant Charge Measurement
Mission: Durability + Efficiency + Performance
Measuring the freon in the air conditioning system is vital for its performance, not only will it perform how it was intended to, the compressor inside the condensing unit (big fan looking box outside) will last you many more years. An improperly charged unit will work harder causing excessive wear and tear and increase electrical consumption.
Air Flow and Fan Efficacy
Mission: System design +
This test is also known as "Watt-draw ratio". The purpose of watt-draw ratio is to measure how much power/electricity is being used to move the conditioned air in your house or building. We take a measurement of the return airflow, along with energy consumption of the fan moving the air. The target here is less than or equal to < 0.58 watts per CFM of recorded air flow.
